The ceiling of this Second Corridor, also called South or Short Corridor was frescoed round 1696-1699 by both Giuseppe Nasini and Giuseppe Tonelli.
The subjects are religious and they mean to celebrate the positive interventions of the Medici family in the defence of the religion.
The three views we can appreciate from here are no doubt magnificent, we could dare say breathtaking! On the right side, Piazza della Signora and Palazzo Vecchio; on the left, the river Arno, the Lungarni and not too far, if you look close, the church of San Miniato al Monte; in front, Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor...enough to keep on turning around to see all this again and again and spend here the whole day!
